Hello. I’m Rosemary Spenke, Founder Director of Heritage Hospitality Consulting. My boutique hospitality consultancy specialises in working with independent hotels, exclusive use venues, and private estates to elevate their commercial development, sales, and marketing.
My portfolio encompasses diverse projects, ranging from assisting clients with exciting new launches and revitalising brands to enhancing existing operations and conducting comprehensive strategic reviews and feasibility studies.
I offer flexible consultancy and support services, whether on a short-term project basis or through ongoing partnerships where clients can outsource portions or the entirety of their sales and marketing function. In the latter scenario, I can seamlessly integrate with the hotel team, aiming for transformational change. This often involves crafting innovative strategies, reviewing brand development, and working closely with clients to implement these plans, leading to significant positive financial outcomes.
A little about my background: I hold a BA Hons degree in Hotel Management and International Tourism from Strathclyde University. My journey took me to France, where I worked in some lovely five-star hotels based in Paris and Cannes. I then moved to London and assumed roles in events management and sales & marketing management with The Savoy Group of Hotels and Conran Restaurants. After a stint with Malmaison Hotels back in Scotland, I joined the family business, Balbirnie House Hotel in Fife, turning it into an award-winning country house hotel. I then decided to return to studies to pursue a Strategic Marketing postgraduate and thereafter have moved on to work with many different businesses. Before establishing my own consultancy, I developed Kinross House Estate into a business, entrusted with developing a luxury brand and establishing the estate as Scotland’s most luxurious exclusive use estate hire.
I established my own consultancy almost 4 years ago, and since then, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to the success of a number of hospitality ventures across the UK, working with a variety of private owners who are keen to drives their businesses further forward.
I’m a member of Buell Consulting (one of the Hospitality, Tourism & Leisure sectors’ leading networks of professional advisory and supply companies) and also a member of the Scottish Agritourism network. Also a past alumni of the Scottish Enterprise Rural Leadership programme (2022/23).
