We have officially launched the Busy Businesswomen’s Book Club in conjunction with Fife Women in Business – this is our brand new initiative to help women learn and grow around their current committments.
Many of us have been in, or still are in book clubs and probably have good AND bad tales to tell about them but fewer of us have probably been in a Business Book Club.
The idea came up in discussion at a recent PBN Networking event where one of our newer members Fiona Reith was explaining how she’s always reading and learning and has a life-long passion for self-development and books. She cited a couple of books such as Designing Your Life which really inspired her – so much, in fact, that she has changed her career entirely to become a career coach. You can read more about her journey on her website.
Taking Fiona’s suggestion, our committee did some research and it turns out there are lots of real and distinct benefits to meeting to discuss business books – not least that you don’t just have to read them all on your own.
We also have been looking for ways to connect and work alongside other affiliate groups in the ASB tradition of ‘inspiring, linking, supporting’. It can be hard going when you’re a small group in numbers so we are excited to be launching this alongside FWB.
How it works
This month’s book is ‘Eat That Frog’ by Brian Tracy. We want you to pick up the book, give it a read then join us on Zoom (details emailed to you upon registering) at 1pm on December 9th with some questions or a point of view as we discuss it.
PBN provides women in Perthshire with business network opportunities, support and in addition, promotion through the delivery of inspiring events, training & skill building. Most importantly, we’ve developed an inclusive community of like-minded business owners and career professionals – who are all happy to share their wealth of knowledge.
If you’re a woman working in Perthshire, growing a business or carving out a career then this inclusive group of bright, pro-active, friendly women are facing the same challenges, questions and work-life balance dilemmas as you! They are also driven, ambitious and looking for new opportunities to develop their businesses and help you develop yours.
Not sure if it’s for you? Come along to one of our events and see for yourself!
