Each year the Association of Scottish Businesswomen honours and celebrates the achievement and contribution of inspirational women in business and the wider community through their Women of Inspiration Awards.

We are delighted to announce that we have honoured twelve such women this year on International Women’s Day. Each woman has been nominated by someone who feels they are deserving of the award; an inspiration to others, role models or leaders in their professions; women who have excelled in their careers or who have encouraged others and impacted lives in the wider community.

Over the coming weeks we will be profiling each of the Women of Inspiration winners on our website.

The women recognised in the 2017 ASB Women of Inspiration Awards can be viewed here.

The Association of Scottish Businesswomen requires a new website with a modern engaging and interactive design plus additional functionality. The new website should have a life span of at least five years with the facility to update as future technology evolves.

Development and design should focus on overall design refit and the smooth delivery of the existing and new member services; the application to be delivered using the best possible standards and practices, ensuring that all features and services are accessible to the highest number of users.

The design must be modern and attractive, leaving visitors with a clear understanding of the ASB service and the benefits of getting involved.

The website should on-the-whole be maintained and managed by the ASB committee or appointed website administrator.

It should be compatible for viewing with latest hand-held devices, as well as PCs and have a home page that easily and quickly uploads on PC, tablet and mobile.

To register your interest in the tender and receive the full tender document, please email Wendy Maltman at Your response along with details of two references should be returned by Friday 23rd December.

The Association of Scottish Businesswomen is seeking administrative support for its Executive Committee (ExCo) and operations.

ASB will be administered by a contracted administrative service, not by an employee. The service may be provided by an individual or a company who is expected to be a member of the ASB. The service will be reviewed on an annual basis (or earlier if service levels fall) and may be re-tendered or allowed to continue for up 3 years with the same service provider.

The main responsibilities of the ASB Administrator are:

1. Provide the main point of contact for ASB (via email and telephone);
2. Support the ExCo with administration e.g. membership, communications, website updates, and events etc;
3. Provide administrative and secretarial support to ASB ExCo.

It is estimated that the work described would occupy on average c. 2-4 hours per week with peaks throughout the year when an event (max 4 per year) is taking place when additional time may be required to prepare.

To register your interest in the tender and receive the full tender document, please email Wendy Maltman at Your response along with details of two references should be returned by Monday 31st October.

Perthshire Businesswomen’s Network (PBN), is celebrating after being shortlisted for Affiliate Group of the Year at the Associate of Scottish Businesswomen Awards 2015. This was the first time PBN had been shortlisted at the ASB Awards and the team attended a special awards dinner on September 18th in Glasgow.

Established in 1997, PBN is a not-for-profit business network that offers opportunities, support and benefits to women in business throughout Perthshire by delivering an array of inspirational events, training, speakers and skills building to its members through monthly networking events and online business promotions and networking. With a steady increase in membership over the past 2 years, PBN’s committee have worked hard to offer members and potential new members an invaluable service that has tangible results for women in the business community.

Sara Wood, Chairperson for Perthshire Businesswomen’s Network, commented:

“We are very proud that PBN has been recognised by the Association of Scottish Businesswomen Awards. Being shortlisted for Affiliate Group of the Year is testament to the hard work of many fantastic people who have contributed to the network’s continued success, from both members and non-members who have attended and supported our events to the inspirational speakers we have been lucky enough to welcome and learn from. We were competing against other outstanding women-only networking groups from around Scotland, and although we didn’t win our catergory we were delighted to have been shortlisted.”
