The Home Straight is a Social Enterprise offering Independent Living Solutions to older people. Our core business involves Moving, Downsizing and Ageing in Place options.

Making the decision whether to move or stay can be a daunting process. We at The Home Straight can support people and their families through the entire process of de-cluttering, preparing a home for sale, organising all aspects of the move and settling in at the chosen destination.

If a person has chosen to stay and future proof their current home, then we can advise on suitable adaptations and project manage this to completion.

Our sister company Ellihome is in the process of making beautifully designed, high quality products to enable older people to maintain their independence and wellbeing at home.

Q What three words would your best friend use to describe you?

A Kind, reliable and a good listener.

Q What’s on your iPod/playing in your car these days?

A Radio 4 – it’s informative and I learn a lot as I am driving along.

Q Who’s your favourite James Bond actor?

A Roger Moore.

Q Your house is on fire, what one item do you save?

A My cat.

Q Last meal on earth?

A Ice cream – I could eat this every day!

A Lord Winston, Ruth Davidson, Michael Buble.

Q First thing you’d do if you won £1million?

A take the grandchildren to Florida Disney.

Q Quiet night in or big night out?

A Definitely quiet night in.

Q City break or weekend in the country?

A City break – there are so many beautiful cities to visit and I am fortunate enough to live in the country, so see it daily.

Q Early bird or night owl?

A Early bird, but not too early!

Q Save it or spend it?

A Save it – I do like spending when I can though.

Q Couch potato or fitness fanatic?

A Oh dear! – Couch potato, I hate the gym, but enjoy gardening.

Q Home or abroad?

A Increasingly home. Air travel is torture nowadays.

A Mostly early.

Q Cats or dogs?

A I have always been a cat person. I like their independence.

Q Happiest memory?

A Holidays with friends and family.

Q And most embarrassing?

A Accidentally going into the gents toilet at the Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh.

A Not being more financially savvy.

A Being brave enough to give up a steady job and become self employed.

A People who give their time to help others.

A People who are selfish and thoughtless.

A My parents, for giving me the values that I have.

A Be more assertive.

A Tell the children their Father and I were parting ways.

A Regular holidays.

A I would like to think so.

A My sister.
