Thursday 12th March – Social Media Evening

In March PBN will be holding a social media training/discussion evening as part of the Perth and Kinross Women’s Festival.

Date – Thursday 12th March

Time – 6.00 – 9.00pm

Venue – The Mercure Hotel, Perth

Food – Buffet

Following the buffet there will be a workshop/mini training group and discussion event which will cover the main aspects of social media – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and blogs – which will be led by experts in those fields.

Twitter – Jennifer Lindsay of River Park

Jennifer has over four years’ experience working in the field of Learning & DevelopmentJenphoto and specialises in on-boarding and designing and delivering IT training.  She works part time as a Trainer, is a self-employed Training Consultant and provides Admin and Communications support to Women’sEnterprise Scotland.  Jennifer is passionate about helping people fulfil their potential and especially enjoys working with women to help them learn the skills they need in today’s business world.  She is also a Committee member of Perthshire Businesswomen’s Network and an avid social media fan.  You can find Jennifer on Twitter

LinkedIn – Alan Martin MD of Chat Marketing

Alan-4Alan Martin is the Managing Director and founder of social media training and coaching company Chat Marketing. He is in demand as a social media speaker and coach, having spoken at events alongside international brands such as Harley Davidson, Volkswagen and Zappos. He has both an industry and an academic background having previously worked for Dundee Science Centre and VisitScotland and lectured in digital and social media marketing at Abertay University and Dundee College. Alan is also Chairman of the Tayside branch of The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

A blog or a regular news page is a great way to attract new visitors tonicki pic your website (or to a stand-alone blog site for your business). It gives them a reason to visit your site frequently andcan help paint a picture of your business in a personal and interactive manner.

In this chat by Nicki Martin you will learn why a blog or news page is important, the basic differences between the two, what works best for each message and most importantly, tips on what to write!

She will discuss how to drive traffic to your blog through social media, newsletters and other channels and give some insights into what has worked for her and her clients.

The format will be informal, with Nicki giving a 15 minute chat and then opening the floor to your specific questions.

Facebook – Graham Innes of Creation Social Media

Graham is a partner with Creation Social Media specialising in Training, Consulting and SPhoto 23-11-2014 14 11 31peaking on all aspects of Social Media for Business.

He has worked with many companies throughout Scotland developing long term strategies to help them increase their online visibility through the use of Social Media.

In addition, Graham has delivered many presentations at Business Shows and Exhibitions.

In his spare time he can be seen out in the middle with a white coat! (Umpiring during the Cricket season) or conjuring a few tunes from his guitars!

The sessions will be around 30/40 minutes long with a 5 minute slot to allow for the change over. Each slot will be limited to 8 people. The sessions will be bookable on the night – one of the committee members will come round and ask you which you would like to book onto during the dinner. If you aren’t booked on a slot then there will be a ‘networking area’ for you to make good use of.
